Malaysia Airlines Second A380 Arrives In KLIA


KUALA LUMPUR – Malaysia Airlines’ second Airbus A380 arrived in Kuala Lumpur International Airport (KLIA) today at 3.32 pm from Toulouse, France, paving the way for the national carrier to operate daily A380 flights between KLIA and London Heathrow effective tomorrow.
“Our first of the six A380s has been operating this route thrice weekly since July 1 this year. With the second aircraft joining our fleet, we will offer daily A380 flights on this route,” said Malaysia Airlines’ Group Chief Executive Officer Ahmad Jauhari Yahya.
“We are also on track to provide the A380 service on the main ‘kangaroo’ route, between London and Sydney, when the third A380 begins daily operations on the Sydney-Kuala Lumpur route by end-November this year,” he said in a statement.
Malaysia Airlines’ A380 flight MH2 departs KLIA daily at 11.40 pm and arrives in London Heathrow at 5.50 am the next day.
The return flight, MH3, departs London Heathrow at 12.00 pm and arrives in KLIA at 7.25 am the next day.
Likewise, the B747 flight MH4 departs KLIA daily at 10.05 am and arrives in London Heathrow at 4.15 pm while the return flight, MH1, departs London Heathrow at 10.00 pm and arrives in KLIA the following day.
The arrival time of both flights in KLIA allow convenient immediate connections on Malaysia Airlines to domestic destinations as well as to most international cities in the Asia-Pacific region it serves. – BERNAMA
