A winning formula: A380 = the new “Queen of the Skies”

The A380 is living up to its reputation as the new “queen of the skies,” with airline operators expanding their route networks and operational frequencies while benefitting from the aircraft’s high reliability.
Nearly 80 A380s are now in service to all of the top 10 international airports.  With more than 100 flights performed daily by A380s around the world, these aircraft are carrying a million passengers per month.
“As the legendary – but now venerable – 747 is being retired, our A380 has become the worthy successor, earning its status as the world’s new flagship as confirmed by the feedback from both the airlines and their passengers,” explained Richard Carcaillet, the Airbus Director of A380 Product Marketing.
He said the A380’s demonstrated advantages include the most comfortable, quietest, most efficient and innovative cabin; the lowest noise, fuel burn and cost-per-seat of any large aircraft; the latest technology certificated to the very latest standards; along with superior range and performance.
“As a result, we are clearly seeing ‘the A380 effect,’” Carcaillet added.  “Its huge popularity with passengers creates higher load factors and average yields – generating higher profits.  All of this confirms the increasingly used phrase: It takes an A380 to compete with an A380.”
